How do I ship heavy equipment?
When moving your heavy equipment overseas there are a couple of choices. A common choice is the Roll-on / Roll-off or the RO-RO. A Roll-on / Roll-off heavy equipment transportation is a heavy piece of machinery that has wheels, which can be driven on and off ships by loading ramps or causeways with landing gear at either end. Another choice is the flat rack heavy equipment transport. A flat rack is similar to a flatbed truck. Your equipment is loaded onto the flat rack, which is then loaded onto the transportation vessel.
What is considered a heavy haul?
Heavy haul is defined by legal limits. Although each state has different heavy haul limits, in general heavy hauls are anything over 80,000 pounds. Our trucks have the capacity to move heavy equipment up to and including 250 tons. Also if something is 8.6 feet in width, taller than 13.6 feet in height, or longer than 53 feet, it will be called a heavy load.
